The acceptance and contemplation of imperfection.

Normann Becker began an apprenticeship as a typesetter in the early 90s, learning his craft partly still in the traditional form when it was already clear that lead typesetting no longer had a future. This was also the first time he came into contact with the work processes in a darkroom for developing films and enlarging negatives.

From the moment Daido Moriyama's photographs captivated him, his enthusiasm for digital and analogue photography began to grow. Similar to Diado Moriyama, his photographic style is characterised by gritty black and white, grainy, out of focus, extreme contrasts, snapshots and fragments.

This kind of black and white photography has a strong attraction for him, but he also shows his creative skills in his colour photographs. For his motifs, he mainly roams the streets & districts of Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding area.

Besides his passion for photography, he has started his own photo zine called "Street Core Recordings". It is a self-published zine in which he presents his black&white and colour photographs taken on his forays through the streets.
