My name is Sam, 42, immigrant kid, 80s kid and 90s teen. I would describe myself as a mixed media artist.

I paint with everything on everything, whether wall, canvas, leather jacket or body. With oil, acrylic, cans and digital. I often combine painting with my photography. 

As a child I never liked to talk and strictly according to the motto "A picture tells more than 1000 words" - I have processed everything that keeps me busy or from which I wanted to escape, in pictures. Fascinated me to this day comics, Crash Boom Bang, a whole story in one picture. I sketched superheroes and then developed my own heroes and drew stories. However, when my dad bought a Polaroid, it was also Click, Shake, Wait and a moment was captured. 

As a teen, fully into hip hop, graffiti fever hit me. At that time there were no can stores and caps in all variations and you had to experiment. My mother wondered why suddenly the nozzles on your perfume were missing. But it wasn't until I was at school that my art teacher encouraged me to paint on canvas and the school photo club showed me the way to photography. 

My style is fast and rough, abstract yet figurative. Art is a universal language and allows me to reach out and touch people. I call myself the Creative Nomad, or KRTVNMD for short, because I am restlessly searching for inspiration. Often my roots influence the color choices and symbolism of my paintings. My ancestors were Berber nomads, probably comes from that restless.

Art does not take place for me in an ivory tower or is elitist - so I try already children in workshops, a low-threshold access and the courage and motivation that I got as a child, have to pass on.

Mein Name ist Sam, 42, Gastarbeiterkind, 80s Kid und 90er Teenie. Ich würde mich selbst als Mixed Media Künstler bezeichnen.

Ich male mit Allem auf Alles, egal ob Wand, Leinwand, Lederjacke oder Körper. Mit Öl, Acryl, Dosen und digital. Oft verbinde ich die Malerei mit meiner Fotografie. 

Als Kind habe ich nie gerne geredet und streng nach dem Motto „Ein Bild erzählt mehr als 1000 Worte“ - habe ich alles was mich beschäftige oder vor dem ich flüchten wollte, in Bildern verarbeitet. Fasziniert haben mich bis heute Comics, Crash Boom Bang, eine ganze Story in einem Bild. Ich habe Superhelden abgezeichnet und dann meine eigenen Helden entwickelt und Storys gezeichnet. Als jedoch mein Vater eine Polaroid gekauft hatte, hieß es auch Click, Shake, Wait und ein Moment war eingefangen. 

Als Teenie, voll im Hip Hop angekommen, hat mich das Graffiti Fieber gepackt. Damals gab es noch keine Can-Shops und Caps in allen Variationen und man musste experimentieren. Meine Mutter hat sich gewundert, warum plötzlich die Düsen auf Ihrem Parfum fehlten. Doch erst in der Schule hat mich meine Kunstlehrerin ermutigt, auch mal auf Leinwand zu malen und die Schul-Foto-AG hat mir den Weg in die Fotografie gezeigt. 

Mein Stil ist schnell und rough, abstrakt und doch figurativ. Kunst ist eine universelle Sprache und ermöglich es mir, Menschen zu erreichen und zu berühren. Ich nennen mich selbst der Kreativnomade, oder kurz KRTVNMD, weil ich rastlos auf der Suche nach Inspiration bin. Oft nehmen meine Wurzeln Einfluss auf die Farbwahl und Symbolik meiner Bilder. Meine Vorfahren waren Berbernomaden, wahrscheinlich kommt daher, dass Rastlose.

Kunst findet für mich nicht in einem Elfenbeinturm statt oder ist elitär - daher versuche ich bereits Kindern in Workshops, einen niedrigschwelligen Zugang zu ermöglichen und den Mut und die Motivation, die ich als Kind bekommen, habe weiter zu geben.
